The Department of Cultural Affairs of the Taipei City Government announced a plan to expand ...The Department of Cultural Affairs of the Taipei City Government announced a plan to expand the original library to include the "Famous residence" and "Literary Life Hall." Following an open bid, Fo Guang College of Humanities and Social Sciences was selected to manage the site and on March 26 in 2002, the new hall was opened.

All of the the museum window glasses changed into anti-UV glass. On October 1, Soochow University accepted the Department of Cultural Affairs' commission to manage Lin's residence and as the research place for the study of Lin's works.
2006
Organized the "A Stride Over/Forward --- Cultural Fusion/Function in the Study of Lin Yutang" ...Organized the "A Stride Over/Forward --- Cultural Fusion/Function in the Study of Lin Yutang" International Symposium, and invited Swedish sinologist Professor Nils Göran David Malmqvist with renowned scholars Professor Chih-p'ing Chou conduct lectures, papers published there Professor Wolfgang Kubin , Professor Su Diran, Professor Qian Suoqiao, Professor Zhu Jiawen, Professor Wu Liquan, Professor Li Yong, Professor Zhou Zhiwen, Professor Lin Mingchang, Professor Qin Xianci, Professor Cao Lindi, Professor Zeng Taiyuan, Professor Liu Zhengzhong, Professor Zhong Yiwen, Professor Lu Yi Lu. Obtained the consent from Lin Yutang's posterity, replaced the tombstone of Lin's tomb. On March, organized "Spring Popia Festival", it contains a series of activities which aim to advocate food culture and aesthetics, and extends the traditional culture into a modern scale, promotes fine arts and culture. On May, organized "Yutang Weekend Lectures " lecture courses. Blending ancient and modern, East and West, classic and fun, focusing on spirit and lifestyle, and plan different topics from the humanities, aesthetics, diet, travel, movies, natural environment, to formulate deverse courses.

In this year, the exhibition was visiting in Shihlin District Civic Center, Datong High School, and Soochow University. The whole museum replaced new MITSUBISHI commercial air conditioner, the host moved from the east side of the roof to back yard.
